standalone mac for an offline survey was created by Jennifer01
Hello,

We are trying to install limesurvey for a standalone mac (Mac OS X, version 10.5.8). We just need this one computer for an off-line survey in an art gallery, for the public to use after they see an art exhibition.

I have downloaded version 1.92 to a folder but am not sure what requirements are needed to build a survey. Do I need XAMPP or MAMP? I know XAMPP is recommended for an offline standalone windows machine, but could not find info on mac requirements.

(also I am not really a mac person so I may be missing obvious info.)

any help, first on system requirements, would be appreciated.

thank you,
Jennifer in Cortland, NY

Hi Mazi,

I downloaded from: www.macupdate.com/app/mac/40929/bitnami-limesurvey-stack/

I made more progress this way, because before I think I was lacking apache etc. that is needed for limesurvey to run. Still, I was not able to get to the limesurvey interface in which you actually build the survey. I will post again if I get it fully functioning.

thank you,
Jennifer

HI,

I have the same problem. I downloaded Lime survey with Mammp, but I cannot get access to the interface where you build the survey. When I hit the the bottom to the administrative panel I only get the message "no available surveys" and a drop down list of languages.

This is the index page. You needt to go to the folder /admin/, probably something like http://localhost/limesurvey/admin/

I still can't get it:

When I go to http://localhost/limesurvey/admin, this is what I get:

Not Found

The requested URL /limesurvey/admin was not found on this server.

When I go to http://localhost:8080/limesurvey/admin/

I get the message I mentioned above.

Do you have any other suggestion?

Thanks.

Hello,

I am having the same issue on a stand-alone mac. I was wondering if you were able so solve it. I successfully installed bitnami limesurvey, I can run it and enable the localhost:8080. However, when I enter "http://127.0.0.1:8080/limesurvey/" in the browser I get the following message:

404: Not Found
Unable to resolve the request "limesurvey".

The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.

If you think this is a server error, please contact UserName LastName.

Can you show your folder structure?

What kind of webserver environment are you running? Are there any other web applications running on this server?

Hi holch,

mmm... I am not so sure where to look for the actual files as bitnami installed everything. I am not aware of any web services currently running. I suspect this is an issue related to Catalina OS. Do you have any pointers on where should I look to give you more specific information?

Cheers
