LS5 - Cannot setup sending of emails

Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version: 5.4.11
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: Own Server
Survey theme/template: Fruity (Extended)

I'm trying to set up outbound email sending for a new LS5 install - getting a strange error.

Getting the Error: Email sending failure: Invalid address: (From): *******

I have tested this with
  • Amazon SES account - And the Invalid Address shown is the Amazon Username (hence why i haven't shown it)
  • Outlook 365 account - Exactly the same but this time the O365 username is what's shown in the invalid address
Tried this with debug on and sending a token based email - same error msg.

Set this up lots of times in LS3 without issue.   Am I doing something wrong?  or do we have a bug?
