LimeSurvey CE in high Avaliability was created by ahmp12
Hi everybody.

I'm new in this community, and I want to make a question regarding the LimeSurvey CE Edition.
I've tried to find if there are previous questions about this, but I don't find anything relation my question.

My question is if it's possible to install LimesSurvey in high availability mode?. I mean, is it possible to have two servers with the same LimeSurvey configuration and both using the same Mysql database?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hmmm, not sure if this makes sense. Limesurvey is very database heavy, so I guess the bottle neck would be rather the same Database server than the front end server.

But I am not a server specialist, so maybe someone else has something to say.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Yes

With some restriction

1. Session must/can be shared too (or you don't change server for same user)
2. upload directory must be shared or mirrored

And you can put your DB on a en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distributed_Replicated_Block_Device ;)

Thanks DenisChenu.

I'm trying to have a system active/active. I'm thinking to have a previous server which balance the load among these servers. This balanced server can manage to send all the requests for a customer to the same server.

Do you know if there any information in LE manuals about high availability?

Regards, and thanks again to everybody for your help.-

No, you won't find such info in the manuals.

I remember one longer thread about a usecase described and explained:

I wouldn't try to make LimeSurvey HA on the level of database and webserver. Too many little issues. I would look to get HA on a lower level (e.g. virtual server in a HA setup).

Such installation are not limited to LimeSurvey,

You can use a wordpress or a prestashop system and adapt it for LimeSurvey.
