We are using LS 2.63.1+170305.

When we "View Statistics", and display the results in HTML, there is a small PDF icon at the top right of each question.

On MacOS (tested on desktop and iPad), when we click on this icon, we start to see the animated "rendering" icon in the middle of the screen, and then nothing happens.

In Windows, on all browsers we tested, this problem does not occur, and we see the rendering icon for a few seconds, and then the popup window (or a warning that a popup was attempted -- depending on browser settings) is displayed, and we can then view the PDF.

Anyone able to confirm this issue?

As part of our investigation, we installed FireFox on MacOS, and we had the same problem -- on both Mac desktop and on iPad.

Do you have a plugin for PDF on this mac? Can you open other PDFs in the browser on this mac?

LimeSurvey is a broken webapp?

The PDF icon is triggering a download which seems quite unusual.
I can confirm that Safari, Firefox and Chrome are not downloading the PDF on iOS.

Chrome under Windows 7 shows a popup-block when clicking the PDF button.
When allowing the popup the PDF is displayed in an extra window, where the whole PDF data is base64 in the URL.

Perhaps there is some room to optimize the offering of the PDF. I'm no expert when it comes to MIME / HTML5 filetransfer.
But on other webapps the PDF-filehandling seems to be issue-free with these browsers/platforms.

;)

Seems totally right here :
github.com/LimeSurvey/LimeSurvey/blob/ma...sController.php#L217

Header is not set , strange firefox show it here, LS is buggy here, not Safari. (but Safari still a dumb browser).

@blocka : can you report the bug and put the link here : i fix it this week end (if you report it).

Does this mean that this issue will persist? Or is it resolvable?

Both questions can be answered with a YES.

If you take a look at the bugticket you can see that nobody is currently assigned to that bugreport.
