I have just updated my installation to the latest release with the comfort system

I did not have permission to save any files.

Changed the owner of all of the limesurvey installation to www-data

Now I cannot save any template mods. a 'save' or 'save and exit' simply bounces ne to kcfinder /files

( I've never come across kcfinder before so I'm a little stumped )

What version/build did you used before updating Limesurvey?
On what version/build is this problem occuring now?
What OS is Limesurvey running on?

Running on Ubuntu ( this is happening on two servers 12.04 lts and 15.10 )

I started developing on a test server on 12.04 with LS 2.50 ( installed 2 weeks ago from limeserver site download ) and migrated across to an Ubuntu 15.10 server when the original one got slow due to other sites.

This morning i upgraded the installation on the 15.10 server to Version 2.50+ Build 160408 using the comfort upgrade.

I lost the ability to save the template the survey uses.

I then migrated a couple of surveys back to the 12.04 box. test a few things and all seemed well.

I then upgraded the installation on the 12.04 box and now I have the same problem on both boxes

i have just created a new template ( copy default template 0 works great and saves under the new name.

Tried to allocate this template to a survey and ........ I get the KCfinder window when I click save or save/continue

I have found a bugticket where you can add information.
10893: KCfinder error
bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=10893

Since LS 2.5 is updated on nearly daily basis it is important to know the build of LS 2.5.
What was the last version/build of Limesurvey you used, where you didn't have that issue?

Hi Thanks!

I have just updated my reply to you.

the original version I installed ( still got the download ) was 250+ build 60317

the version I upgraded to this morning must then be 250+ build 60408

I'll head over to the bug and update it there.

Now ...... if you have used 2 comfort updates to do this do you get them credited back as the updates broke my survey !!!

I am afraid that isn't the case.

I have commented on the bugtracker and added a link to this thread. There are some issues around kcfinder with certain installations.
Currently it seems to be not clear how to get it work for everybody.

I am still on LS 2.06LTS and don't use LS 2.5. So I cannot provide any more insight or help with that issue.

Not sure what KCFinder even does but it seems not to do it reliably! :)

I'm going to try to unwind my upgrade and see how it goes.

Thanks for the info though
