Since LS3 is getting more stable every day, we thought it would be a good idea to start using it for a customer.

We wanted to extend the vanilla template and adapt it to our needs. We have set up a survey using thi new template and it works.

This is still far from what a new extended template should be, but people that are interested, may want to look & use.

Please find it at:

github.com/toolsforresearch/LS3-TFR-theme01

We hope to inprove this theme until we have a basis for something we can sell. Until that time, please use and adapt for your needs for free.

What do we want to do:
  • add utility classes for improving the display of questions: when these classes are added in the question itself (through the Question edit > Display > extra classes) appearance may be influenced. Any ideas? (We have...)
  • further improve the vanilla theme on which this theme is based, because there are still some inconsistencies in the HTML that is being produced by this theme, which makes styling more difficult. For this action we need co-operation of the LS developers, the people that have worked very hard to make this new way of working with themes possible.
  • add some extra Javascript, like the possibility to see if a slider is touched or not and by that being able to show the user what sliders still need to be touched.
  • ... tell us

for anything related to question theming:
github.com/LimeSurvey/LimeSurvey/tree/master/themes/question

So, a theme for LimeSurvey could consist in one general theme for survey + question themes ; like a Joomla template often come with modules.

Will do. I just encountered some things that I did not see before. No real bugs, just some tiny things.

Is the URL correct? GitHub shows me a 404 error at the moment.

Are you a student conducting a survey? If yes, tell me why you use LimeSurvey?

Thanks, jelo! I had overlooked the private setting of the repo. It is now public.

Apologies!

I'm not able to import this template in LS 3.7.0. I downloaded the zip archive from Git Hub. When I imported the template I gon an error (not sure what the message was, bacause I tried once more without error).

The template is not shown in the list of available templates. When I try to reinstall once more I'm told the template already exists.

That sounds more like a bug with LS 3.7 than with the template itself. Report the issue via Bugtracker or wait till someone else does it ;-)

no I think it comes from the theme itself.

Hi,

I now see why this error (probably) is shown: the download from GIT has another name than what is defined in the config.xml.

I downloaded the latets version and renamed both the zip, as well as the folder that is in the zip. See attachment. Could you try that one?

The template does not need a map in the zip, so the previous zip will also not work. Attached is one that I tested. Vanilla theme needs to be installed, because this theme build on that.
