BUG: multiple users with same email address was created by AdrianR

Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: Own hosting

Hi,
When a new user is added, the same email address as an existing one can be added.
I don't think that this should be allowed.

In some cases this is useful. For example when people have to answer about a car and they have multiple cars.

Yes, I don't see this as a bug. I can think of several use-cases where duplicated email addresses would be required.
For example, recently a client wanted to receive copies of all email invitations so they could be forwarded to new contacts in the respondent organizations. In this case we created a second survey with the invitation link hard-coded and imported the token table from the first survey but with all email addresses set as the client's.

Oh, I see from the bug that you are referring to admin users, not respondents.
I'm still not sure I see it as a bug. I regularly add test users or add users where I want the password automatically created but not sent to the user by LimeSurvey.

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't understand why you would want to have 3 users with the same email address.
So the user will receive 3 emails for the same survey?
Anyway, I configured the authentication with SSL certificate and this was something strange from my point of view.
If this is intended, then my bad

For admin users. I didn't specified so, again, my bad.
I understand what are you saying because I run into this doing the same thing that you described. That doesn't mean this should be possible at least this is my opinion.

I personally consider it as a bug (for survey admins, not for survey takers) if you can register the same email address twice. But I can understand that some have created a workflow where this could be necessary.
This is confusing. Why 3 emails for the same survey? Emails for the "same survey" would only be relevant if we are talking about survey takers, not survey admins. A survey admin usually doesn't receive any emails for a survey, except the "admin notification" is on, but there you need to specify the email anyway.
