Dear community, 

in my survey I have a couple of questions where I ticked "show the comment area". 
I am currently analyzing the results. Now, I can't seem to see the responses of these comment boxes. They do not appear at all, despite knowing for a fact that participants have added a comment. 

Can anyone help?

You did not answer the basic questions at the beginning, like Limesurvey Version, where it is hosted, etc.

And what type of questions are you referring to. I am not quite sure what "show the comment area" means. Not aware of such a future (which doesn't mean it doesn't exist, I just don't know what you are referring to).

Ideally you add a LSS-file here with only the questions that show the problem, or even just a selection (copy your survey, delete all unnecessary stuff for this issue, export it and upload it here).

Or at least show us some screenshots.

Where do they not appear? You need to be more specific for us to be able to help.

IF you are referring to the plugion "commentsOnSurvey".
This is only thought for comments by other admins during the test of a survey, let's say you programmed the survey and now the client checks it.
Here he can enter some remarks how to change something or so.

As written in the description of the plugin
this plugin allow LimeSurvey admin user to add comments on each questions.
These comments are not for respondents.

In the responses of your survey you will not find these remarks.
These remarks are stored in a special table of the database callled "lime_commentsonsurvey_questionscomments"

So, if you have access to the database you might find these remarks and by "sid" (SurveyID), "qid" (QuestionID) and "srid" (probably SavedID of response) you can merge it with your other responses.

If you talked about something else, go back to the first phrase.

Allow to put comments on each question by administrator or manager.

This is a feature for the Limesurvey backend, for the administration side, not for survey responders.

If you want additional comments to a question, you'll need to add a text box question to each question within the questionnaire.
