use previous question's answer in subquestion does not work the way it used to was created by ritapas
Hello,
I have an old survey in a LS 2.6.6 site which I want to add to my new 4.2.1 site.
There is a part which does not work anymore.
In brief, there are two questions:
the first one asks to name some products you want to rate, the second asks, for each of those, to add a rating.
In the subquestions of the second one, in the old LS site there where only the {QUESTIONCODE} expressions, of course with a filter preventing to show the line when there is nothing in the product name.
Now this doesn't work anymore.
I've tried by adding .NAOK or .shown but whatever the case I get the expression, not the value, in the subquestion.
Is there a new way to do this?
I enclose my sample survey.
Thanks a lot.

This is an issue in 4.X : please report.
It woark with array question type, but not with dual scale.
If you can (if you have a backup) : best is to upgrade to 3.X and not to 4.X : community.limesurvey.org/downloads/

Done, thank you-
As for 3.X, that's sad. We switched to 4.X because we did not want to take an LTS version...

Why did you NOT want to take a LTS (long term support)?
It is generally the most stable and best to use for production environment.

because we expect to deploy the environments (yes, many) to our users in september and in the ls roadmap website we saw that 3.X is supported until the end of 2020...

With the current state of 4.x I would bet that the LTS status will be extended. I don't currently see 4.x being as stable in December 2020 as 3.x is right now.
I can understand that you won't want to launch 3.x in September and then end of 2020 switch to 2020. In this case, I would highly recommend to test, test, test as much as you can and report, report, report bugs as much as you can. I am sure it will be very much appreciated. Maybe this will help so that 4.x is sufficiently stable until September for production use. That leaves you about 2-2.5 months, depending on when you will deploy the environments for your users. I think it is doable, but will require a lot of help from the community.
