Change color of highlighted mandatory items was created by CWFranz
Dear guys and gals,
I need your help:
After the upgrade of my system to the recent LS version I encountered a problem with a certain formatting on array questions. When a mandatory subquestion is left unanswered, the left out question is highlighted by an orange warning indicator (good), but the font color is changed to white against a white or light grey background (very bad). How can I change this behaviour in the template editor? I'd like it to change to a dark orange for instance, or even stay the same - but I simply can't find the relevant paragraph in the css files to change that.
Therefore: What am I even looking for? (To be honest: Since the upgrade I have had a very hard time finding my way around the template editor so far...)
I'm using the most recent Version of Limesurvey (Version 2.55.3+161111), and the standard template "default".
Thanks so much!
Chris

Hi, CWFranz,
this is, what I see using the default template. (screenshot)
So what exactly is your problem?
Please attach a screenshot of the display on your side.
Best regards

Hi, Joffm,
thanks so much for your help. I attached the file to my reply (in the screenshot the first subquestion in the arrayquestion wasn't answered).
But I seem to have found the root of the problem: The questions were formatted to have alignment and margin by the use of a <span> tag each. That seems to have broken the orange highlighting (which I discovered to work fine with a new array question without span tags!).
Now, knowing that the subquestion-font color change to white is perfect when the orange highlighting works, as it does without the use of <span> tags, there's the new problem: When I can't use <span>, 'cause it breaks the highlighting, how can I get the subquestions to align right?
thanks in advance!

Hi, CWFranz,
if you want to align ALL answer texts in array questions right-aligned,
add this snippet to your template.css
If you don't want to align generally, insert this into the question text:

Can you attach a small test survey (.lss file)?

I have no problem with spans in the row labels in version 2.55.3.But I seem to have found the root of the problem: The questions were formatted to have alignment and margin by the use of a <span> tag each. I think this issue (white text on white background) shew up at older 2.5x versions. At the current default it should be fixed for weeks.
