issues mapping feature was created by Mobody
Hi,

I'm new to LimSurvey but now working a lot with it to prepare a prepare a survey I want to conduct in he next month. I'm a urban sociologist and want to map the activities and peer groups of adolescents. So I was happy to discover that LimeSurvey offers the possibility to create an item where respondents mark a location on a map (short text question). I have several qustions/issues with this feature and found no answers searching the forum and the web. I'm using LimeSurvey 2.06+ Build 160129. It's installed on the server of the university I'm working for.

1. When I use OpenStreetMap changing the width of the map in the extend options has no effect.
2. Using OSM there is an search bar (which doesn't appear using Google Maps) but it doesn't really work. Searching for a street or a city has no effect.
3. I would like to hide the search bar (at least when it's not working) and also the fields to enter coordinates. So that only the map can be used to mark a location. Is this somehow possible?
4. Using Google Maps it's not possible to makr a location on mobile devices (which works with OSM). But I guess this is an issue of Google Maps not of LimeSurvey, right?

So I'm not sure which of thie issues are bugs, which are not changeable "facts" and which are feature requests.

Beyond that I would like to see the mapping feature getting improved. This could make LimeSurvey a a very useful tool for urban planers and research, geographers and anyone using maps for research. I've no coding skills (except for some very basic knwledge od HTML and CSS) but maybe could assist devloping this feature with my experience as researcher.

Best
