My survey has an error when trying to send email
Error: Email failed, this may indicate a PHP Mail Setup problem on the server.
Which could be the problem if the first time I set it up, it worked well
The first time I set it up, I used an Office365 mail account and works well
Now is not working anymore.
I changed the configuration to gmail and is not working.
error
2015-06-01 18:11:01 CLIENT -> SERVER: QUIT 2015-06-01 18:11:01 SERVER -> CLIENT: 221 2.0.0 Service closing transmission channel
My server is RHEL 6.5 and xampp for apache, php and mysql

If you used an Office365 mail account, that I am quite sure it was not with PHP Mail, but with SMTP.
To me it sounds like your server can send mails via php mail.

All the time I've been using the SMTP option
Is weird because if it worked well and suddenly stopped working
I never moved anything in the server configuration
If I put the gmail SMTP settings, send mail does not work

OK, wait a second. We need to make clear what you are talking about.
Let's see if I get it right:
- You have used SMTP with a Office 365 account sucessfully.
- You switched to gmail with no sucess
My question is: Where comes the php mail error into the game??

Yes, I have used SMTP with an Office 365 account sucessfully but yesterday it stopped working so I switched to gmail to rule out problems with office365 but I had no success.
The php mail error comes when you want to continue the survey another day
"Error: Email failed, this may indicate a PHP Mail Setup problem on the server. Your survey details have still been saved, however you will not get an email with the details. !

Can you show a screenshot of your email configuration page? (of course with personal data blacked out.
Because the PHP mail error shouldn't come at all, if you use SMTP as your email configuration, I would say.
So Office365 worked before, doesn't work anymore. That is already a good additional information, because I understood your first post in the way that the problem was only with Gmail.

Try using the hole email address for login, not just the part before "@", as far as I know, this is necessary with Gmail.

However, I am not sure if this helps, because you get this PHP mail error, so there might be something else going on on your server. Did you update LS recently?
You already said that you did not make any chances to the server. How about your hosting company?

Thaks!
I tried these settings without success.
My server is local with a public IP and my own domain
The version I am using right now is
2.05+ Build 150413
when the email worked, I used the same version.
Do you think it could be some network configuration issue?

I am not an expert on network configurations, but a local server with public IP (fixed or dynamic DNS) surely gives some space for errors. But if it worked before and it doesn't, there mus have changed something, somewhere, somehow.

Thanks for the help!!!
problem solved, I do not know why, but suddenly started working again.
Maybe the isp was the problem.

The error messages and SMTP error codes of the big email companies are often a bit misleading and there blacklist / antispam routines are blocking IP-Ranges for days without a clear notice why they do this.

Is the IP of your ISP connection static or changing every 24h or after reconnection.djarnold wrote: Thanks for the help!!!
