Exploration of limSurvey as a solution for the evaluation of teachers was created by massicos
Hi,
I work at the University of Montréal and we are exploring options to offer the online evaluation of our teachers. LimeSurvey is one of the options. The scenario that I imagine is this one :
Did I understand well the possibilities and the limits of limeSurvey ?
Is there another way to produce the reports ?
What do you think of the solution ?
Thanks
Steve
I work at the University of Montréal and we are exploring options to offer the online evaluation of our teachers. LimeSurvey is one of the options. The scenario that I imagine is this one :
- We got a database with all the courses, all the users (teachers and students) and all the enrolment in those courses
- With the help of the web service API we want to create survey for every courses and place only the students into it
- We got 100 types of survey
- We want to create a pool of questions
- If possible by the web services API we want to assign automatically the right survey for the right course
- We want to assign some manager of some categories of courses
- example : userABC as the manager of all the computer science courses
- When we open the survey we want to be able to contact people by email
- After some time we want to contact again people that have not answer the survey
- After a moment we close the survey
- Reports
- We want to produce some reports
- A personal report for each teachers for each of is course
- Reports by department, faculty or program
- I don't think that limeSurvey is build to produce those types of reports. Is it the case ?
- I found that it's that possible to extract the survey in Excel or CSV using the web services API.
- I will import those data into a database and produce and distribute the reports with our SharePoint installation
- We want to produce some reports
Did I understand well the possibilities and the limits of limeSurvey ?
Is there another way to produce the reports ?
What do you think of the solution ?
Thanks
Steve

I answered some of your questions based upon my experience:
If possible by the web services API we want to assign automatically the right survey for the right course
questions are tied to a particular survey and cannot be recycled.
We want to assign some manager of some categories of courses
doable
When we open the survey we want to be able to contact people by email
After some time we want to contact again people that have not answer the survey
After a moment we close the survey
doable
reports
You can link your sharepoint to limesurvey directly and build your dashboard based on the linked data so that users can see reports in realtime.

Good idea. Much simpler.
The only issue I see is that every survey is a table. I would have to make merge tables (using UNION in SQL for example). It's can complicate the report.

Seems interseting for some people, maybe you can put some information on our wiki ?
manual.limesurvey.org/Workarounds:_Furth..._by_LimeSurvey_users seem a good place to start
Assistance on LimeSurvey forum and LimeSurvey core development are on my free time.
I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH member, professional service on demand , plugin development .
I don't answer to private message.

If limeSurvey is selected, it will be a pleasure to contribute to your workaround page.
