Your LimeSurvey version: 6.2.6
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: Own server

==================
I'm adding multiple users via CSV-file. I've managed to import a list, but have a problem with two steps:
1. I need a specific user role added to all the accounts and my tested options doesn't work (e.g., "user_role")
2. I've added a few test users. LS does neither e-mail them nor does the set password work. Is there another way than asking users to reset their password to start?

Regarding 2.: How is your email setup for Limesurvey? how did you configure the email server?

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Currently we are using the PHP. We are working on STMP connection to prevent email server rejects and other known problems.

Well, then I am not surprised that no emails arrive at the destination.

Today, basically everyone checks incoming mail for certain configurations and settings on the sending email server, which with the php mail function will never work.

here is what someone on Stackoverflow says:

"The problem is simple that the PHP-Mail function is not using a well configured SMTP Server.

Nowadays Email-Clients and Servers perform massive checks on the emails sending server, like Reverse-DNS-Lookups, Graylisting and whatevs. All these tests will fail with the php mail() function. If you are using a dynamic ip, its even worse.

Use the PHPMailer-Class and configure it to use smtp-auth along with a well configured, dedicated SMTP Server (either a local one, or a remote one) and your problems are gone."

So use a well configured SMTP server for sending emails from Limesurvey.
