Presenting random vignettes to rate. was created by JPGuay
We're conducting a study using factorial survey. Each participant is presented with a (unique) short 1-page clinical vignette (or story), and they have questions about what is in the vignette. Is there any way we can use a randomly selected vignette to show and rate? any hints on how to do it?
I'm new to Limesurvey.
Thanks
Jean-Pierre

Hi,

the usual way is to create a random number.
This you do by inserting a question of type "equation" and using the function "rand(x,y)"
manual.limesurvey.org/ExpressionScript_-...mplemented_functions

Like {if(is_empty(random),rand(1,6),random)}

According to this number you show the vignette.
This you do either by creating a question that displays the vignette and entering a relevance equation like "random==1", "random==2" to display the respective question

If you are going to conduct a closed survey with a participant table you also may use an additional attribute, where you enter the number of the shown vignette to this person. You may roll a dice to decide.
Then the relevance equation could be "TOKEN:ATTRIBUTE_1==1", "TOKEN:ATTRIBUTE_1==2", ...
