Import file to SPSS was created by pedromecandeias
Hello,
I am recently using the professional lime survey. But I am not able to import the dat file into spss using syntax. I changed the location of the dat file as stated in the instructions.

>Error. Command name: GET DATA
>(2269) Failure opening file: Users/pedrocandeias/survey_735111_SPSS_data_file.dat
>Execution of this command stops.

Is it possible that it is because you are using the professional version? At times I used the regular version and had no problems with the import.
Thank you

Hi,
this is not directly LimeSurvey related, but SPSS.
Do you use a Mac?
You should search the internet for the issues of Mac OS Catalina and IBM SPSS, e.g.
developer.ibm.com/predictiveanalytics/20...atalina-macos-10-15/

But there is a workaround.
The dat-file is a simple comma-separated csv-file .
This you can import into SPSS. (something like "Read text")
After that you run the syntax (only VARIABLE LABELS, VALUE LABELS and RENAME).
Maybe you have to adapt the dat-file, but you will be able to import.
