Attach files from admin when editting response?

I am using a survey to collect information for a student bursary, and applicants need to upload files when completing the survey. Occasionally, an applicant sends us the files by email instead -- but I'd like to be able to upload those files to their response record.

But from the admin Edit Response, there's no mechanism to upload/attach fields for File Upload type questions.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks for this suggestion!

Alas, my problem is that the survey has already collected 300+ submissions.

I thought maybe I could
1) add a participant table,
2) then enter the names of those students who needed to edit their responses to upload their attachments into the participant list with a token
3) Edit their response record and add their token into the response
4) Then share the survey link including the token with the student
5) Student could return to survey access their response, and upload their files

I have my survey token settings to :
Enable token-based response persistence: On
Allow multiple responses or update responses with one token: Off
Allow public registration: On

But when I test by trying loading survey URL with token, the survey loads empty, even though there is a response.

Is there another table I need to update to link the participant to their response?

Add a feature request or bug report. Depending on how you see it.

Would definitely be a good idea...

In meantime, I had tried the following, as per my post, but it doesn't work -- any ideas why?

I don't know about the DB tables but why would you turn off "update responses with one token"? Isn't that exactly what you are trying to do?

Well, I'm a twit! Thanks, that resolves the issue, lol!

I've always found that option confusing:
Allow multiple responses or update responses with one token

It's an OR question with On/Off -- And given that its interpretation is based on whether "Enable token-based response persistence" is On or Off, I always get confused about what to setting "Allow multiple responses or update responses with one token " to On or Off actually means...
