Link to survey from newsletter was created by 412837
Hi!
We want to invite our customers to take a survey as part of our newsletter.
We would like the survey to be non anonymous.
We don't want our users to have to register but rather pass the email address from the newsletter text to the survey, possibly via the link.
Is it possible to make this with LimeSurvey?
What is the best way to invite users from newsletter to take a survey?

Volunteers are not paid.
Not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless

Hi,
yes exactly as you said.
See the manual: manual.limesurvey.org/URL_fields#Start_URL
Add the email address to the link " www.survey.de/survey/index.php/182838?lang=en& Q1=Joe@example.com"
And in your survey you have Q1, a "short text" question, where the value is stored.
Remind the text in the manual when testing:
And
Sorry, I have no idea about the incidence of reading newsletters, and then answering a survey.
Best regards
Joffm

Hint: The extra GET parameters are only filled when the survey starts anew. Therefor, for testing, always add newtest=Y to start a fresh survey. For example: ls.example.org/1234?QTEXT=prefilled&newtest=Y
And
It's your idea to do this. What is the best way to invite users from newsletter to take a survey?

I understand what you mean.
You are storing the email as a question, but not as the participant email, is that right?
I was thinking more a link that would create the token and follow into the survey, as if the user had register herself.

You would need the link to direct to a PHP file that uses the Remote Control API to add the participant and then redirect to the survey.I was thinking more a link that would create the token and follow into the survey, as if the user had register herself.

Hi,

And exactly that is done.
Your users don't have to register.
The user email address which is in the newsletter text - in the link the user clicks to open the survey - is stored in the survey.
What else do you want?

I am trying this option, but I cannot create a survey without tokens.
I have read the documentation and mentions "if your survey uses tokens"... but the question is how do you create a survey that does not require tokens?
I don't see how to disable them.

Tokens are not activated by default. They must be activated after survey creation.
If they are activated, you can deactivate from the "Survey participants" screen.
