Save Group totals and survey total values to database - lime 2.5 was created by paulearley
Hello, first post in quite a while.
I have been scouring the Limesurvey manual and how to's and cannot find out how to do this.
I would like to save the total values for responses in each group to the database. I tried using the equation question type where the group questions are labeled A1 through A5:
{A1+A2+A3+A4+A5}
The value never shows up in my MySQL database.
I set the equation type to "always numeric.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi, paulearley,
please have a look to the LS demo survey "Tailoring Examples".
There is a group "Hidden Equations to Compute BMI".
"This computes your body mass index (BMI) and tells you your weight status. It demonstrates the use of hidden Equation-type questions, whose values are stored in the database even though hidden on the screen. "
You can adapt it easily to your needs.
Kind regards
Joffm

Thanks - because the manual was for an older version, I could not extrapolate to 2.5. I will review again.
