I am using Version 2.50+ Build 160525.

Export to Excel. There are columns and I can take some away, but this I have to do every time. Can not save it. So, is any way to mark somewhere that I don't want some fields because they are just headers.

I don't think so.

It should be fairly trivial to create a macro in Excel to remove the columns.

Unfortunately LS is lacking XML export facilities for answers even if this format is intensively used elsewhere (.lss, lsg, .lsq, etc.).

For people using advanced Excel documents (styles, formulas, macros etc.) there is a lot of advantages to import (static/local or dynamic/online) XML files compare to XLS or CSV files... (for example this approach to manage unwanted columns ;) )

Loading XML files as data source is available in all Excel versions since 2007.
I'm talking about static local files. Using office 365 (and maybe recent desktop version I don't know) you can load online XML files... so if you can configure your own script to generate this file... you will pretty have nothing else to do further except opening your spreadsheet. Related post
