hidden multi-choise prefill with EM was created by Liod_DS
Hi all,
i have a question (maybe already solved, but i can't find anything that answer exactly)
is possible to prefill an hidden multi question with the EM ? (i need it to filter the next question)
i'll explain the problem:
Q1 - Select your country; [single]
Q2 - Select your favorite shops [single]
[the list is VERY long and not all the shops are in all country, so i need to filter Q2]
my idea was: make a Qmask[multi-choice/hidden] with all the shops code -> check all the shops available (via EM)-> apply the filter ... i've used the js workournd to filter the Q2 and it works fine, but i'm sure the powerfull EM can do the trick ! (i use the EM to set some hidden single choice question, and i think is a better solution)
Thanks for the reply and sorry if repost...

Which version of LS do you use?
You can use sub-question relevance to show/hide items in Q2 depending on answers of Q1.

i can't found sub-question relevance on the single-choice type (see the attachment) ... it's strange because i see it on other type question (grid and multi)
maybe it's a bug ?

You're right. There seems to be no subreleveance in single choice question. I haven't found it in LS 2.06LTS and LS 2.5. Little surprise to me.
As a workaround think about using a multiple-choice question with a answerlimit of one.

Yeah, that's because those are answers, not sub-questions and therefor don't have their own columns in the database. I think answer relevance is in the works somewhere. You're right. I hope some day the EM will be able to set the hidden multi ( I understand it can't now but that can solve a lot of masking problems), until that day i will use the JS (or the formatted multi) workaround!
Thanks all for the answers!
(Because the EM can't... right ???)

We can always set hidden muti question . Create a equation type question before hidden multi and place below code in its question source. You can then hide both multi and equation question and punching will work just fine. Yes , It solves many masking problems.
eg:
Terms "hidden multi" , "set" , "masking" sounds familiar to me I am sure you are Confirmit programmer as well. I am also confirmit programmer and use these terminologies
eg:
Code:
{hideQ2_1 = if(Q1_1.NAOK == "Y","Y","")}

Yeah! You've guessed it! Working primarily in Confirmit, now I'm pushing to move some interviews on limesurvey and I have to figure it out all by myself!
So far i've made it with some very simple Interview, but i need advanced masking(filtering) quotas and loops
Thanks for the very usefull tips, have a nice day!
