Language settings: How to remove Lime-Survey-notes? was created by DJI_TK
Hello guys!
I have a question: Is it possible to remove the notes in lime survey like: "You have to fill out one field." etc. etc.?
Or is it possible to change the wording of it?
In german it's the problem that the 'you' in plural is different than the 'you' in singular.
Thanks for reading,
Greetz

Hello,
1. "Question / Advanced Settings". Hide Tip: On
2.
You have to download the translation as *.po, edit it with "poedit" (do a search to download it), and save it. The *.mo file you have to upload to the language folder of your installation.
Beware: After an update it is lost.
3.
Best regards
Joffm

Hi Joffm,
the first tip doesn't seem to work: Even if I select 'Hide Tip: On' there is still: "Your answer has to be between ... and ..." - So I guess hide the tip is just for your own tips?!
If it's not possible to just hide all kinds of tips by lime survey during the survey I'll come back to your second point.
3.: When you talk to a child you say 'du' (second person singular) but when you adress to an adult you usually say 'Sie' (second person plural). So the problem is that in my survey I want to say 'Du' but Lime Survey picks 'Sie' because usually Survey are adressed to adults.
Thank you so far,
Greetz

Check the language for the survey. German is available in two varieties. German and German (informal). Choose informal for Du. Not sure if every hint is correctly worded, but first try the informal German language file.DJI_TK wrote: 3.: When you talk to a child you say 'du' (second person singular) but when you adress to an adult you usually say 'Sie' (second person plural).

You can chose as language Deutsch(Du-Form) then it says "Du musst"
You can use a secon language with an extra link for the survey

Hello,
1. according to the tips:
www.limesurvey.org/forum/german-forum/112493-hinweise-entfernen
2. Therefore I asked for an example. It's not singular and plural, it's "normal" and "informal".
Well, if you find out during the survey, that let's say the age of the respondent is 13 and you would like to use "Du", you could ask him to change the language. But that's an academic question.
Best regards
Joffm
