Admin survey preview demands access token was created by baxterdmutt
I’m using the most recent limesurvey and I’m working on a not yet activated survey. I can’t preview any part of the survey as the admin user. It’s insisting I need an access token. What am I doing wrong.

Ok, this might help someone else. If any question has an error, or if any question group is without a question, this warning will appear.

I’m using the most recent limesurvey

Not very helpful, as there are currently 3 (in words THREE) different branches of Limesurvey and each have a "most recent" version.

Also, what is the most recent version today, might not be the most recent version tomorrow, which is why we ask for the full version number. Anything else doesn't really help.

But if I understand your second post right, your issue is resolved?

Sorry. It’s 6.2.6. Yes, it’s fixed.

Oops, no it’s not fixed. I can preview a question or a group, but I cannot preview the survey. I’m always asked for a token.

That is not a bug, but a "feature".

If it asks for a token, it is because there is a token table for this survey. So that you are able to test the token functions, (e.g. if you access custom attributes from the token table in your survey).

So if there is a token table, it will ask for tokens. Delete the token table and you won't be asked for a token anymore.

Ok. Thanks. The participants table was empty and so I had assumed there were no tokens. I deleted the participants table (even-though there were none listed) and that fixed it. Thanks so much. I would never have figured that one out.

It's a tricky one. But if you would have activated it, you would have noticed that the token is requested as well. No matter if there are participants in the table or not. As soon as there is a token table the survey is considered in "closed mode".
