Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version:   Version 6.0.1+230411
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: Shared server via Bluehoast, a subfolder on my domain
Survey theme/template: 2: Monochrome Template
==================
In a survey for our volunteer group, respondents are asked to identify the street name and block # they live on. I selected "alphabetic" for easy to find answer choices, but the sort "reads" the block number, not the street name when exported to paper. It is displayed properly in the electronic version. As this is a grassroots neighbourhood initiative, we know that there are folks who are not up to online responses, so wish to have a direct match with a paper version.
Any assistance most appreciated from this relative newbie!

Hi,
sorry, we have no idea, what you are doing.

respondents are asked to identify the street name and block # they live on

How are they asked? Which question type?

but the sort "reads" the block number, not the street name when exported to paper.

Which export to paper?

So, you created a survey in LimeSurvey and now you want to create a paper-pencil questionnaire from this source?
Isn't the work flow exactly the other way?
You have a paper draft from which you then create your online survey.

Nevertheless, to ease out life: Send a lss export

But I should say:
he sorting is done on runtime, but the export uses the original order in the database.

TY: to clarify: List (radio) Export to print as shown below is not in the same order online (alpha by street). Appreciate your time.

Kings Rd 1100 Blk
Kings Rd 1200 Blk
Cedar Hill Rd 2600 Blk
Asquith St 2600 Blk
Victor St 2600
Asquith St 2700 Blk

(Don't actually know how to send the lss, sorry.)

lss export:

Then attach it here.

Even if it is a multilingual survey I do not think that the addresses are language sensitive.
So why do you not order it by yourself?

Attaching the lss ... seeking to better learn the tool.

Yes, if I must, I can create a separate printed version. The particular question expands upon a 2018 survey and addes multiple addresses - 28 choices, so I', not eager to start that over if the tool can deliver a printed version that matches the online version. Thx for any thoughts.

I do not see, why you don't just reorder the addresses.

Without the "alphabetical order" setting

and the printed version

Thx, will do.

As mentioned, trying to learn the tool and selected the alphabetic listing thinking that's what it would deliver in both online and printed forms.

Appreciate your time - have a good one --

In y opinion : you're right :)

Else alphabetic is interesting only with multilingual survey.
