In latest limesurvey 6.x when I set the global SMTP E-Mail settings, there is no test E-Mail sent.  In the previous versions I was able to test the settings by hitting the send email button. 

I double checked the SMTP settings and when I create a new user it sends an E-mail.  So it sort of works, but the testing functionality should also work. 

ubuntu 22.04 php 8.1. 

when adding a user the permission popup layout is all mangled up. Maybe broken theme?

If PHP 8.1 is involved you might have some sideeffects. I recommend to use PHP 8.0.X too.

You hit the button and no email reached you mailbox? Or you didn't see and hit a button in LS6?
Did you upgrade to LS6 or is this a fresh installation of LS6?

I can't open bug report. My login works for limesurvey main site but not for mantis.

When I click sign up in mantis it redirects me to my limesurvey account that is already logged in. But I cannot open tickets anonymously.

The send e-mail button is there. When I click it a pop up shows up that it will send it to admin@mydomain.tld.

Then it returns to global settings saying that it saved settings.

but there is no e-mail sent.

When I add a user in user management the e-mail for the new user is sent correctly.

Fresh install, vanilla. 

unrelated:

the user permission pop up has a layout/theming issue.

Maybe related to loooong german wording
