I would like to rank the answers from a previous question.
The ranking should include all selected answers from the multiple choice (G02Q62), and if "other" has been selected, 1 to 3 extra answers (depending on which were selected) from a multiple choice with comments (G01Q21, the text from the comment should be the answer(s) in the ranking question,G02Q62ranktest).

I attached a LSS as example.

Add a second array filter.
Add "G01Q21" to the array filter
Add the subquerstion codes of G01Q21 "SQ001",... to your ranking question with the answer option text "{G01Q21_SQ001comment", "G01Q21_SQ002comment",...

Hello again,

When testing the survey, the sorting question appears with empty boxes in the left column (see picture in attachment).
Would it be possible to get rid of them?

It seems that 3 of the 4 boxes correspond to the 3 comments from the question appearing when "Other" is selected in the question feeding the sorting question.

  The subquestion codes used in the first question must coincide with the subquestion codes from the second one. Otherwise, the array filter function will not filter the answers to the first question. Note: When you want to filter the "other" answer option from the first question, you need to provide a subquestion for this answer in the second question and the subquestion code for this answer needs to be "other". Check the below example to better understand how the whole system works.

But your codes do not (red).
And there is an empty option (blue). 


So, either you recode in the ranking question to "SQ001",... or you recode the "other" question to "AO10",...
