Set Question type via TSV was created by os6783
Hi there,
currently, I am designing a survey, where I will have people "classify" images. i.e. in each question group, an image is shown with 4 possible answers.
To automate the creation of the questions (it might be ~100) I have created one question and exported the survey as a tsv. Now I can programmatically edit the tsv and reimport the survey. The issue I am having is that I would like to use "Bootstrap buttons" instead of "List (radio)". When I change that, export as tsv and reimport, the question is imported as "List (radio)". It looks to me as if the information is not exported in tsv.
If I export the question group as lsq, I see the following line:<question_theme_name><![CDATA[bootstrap_buttons]]></question_theme_name>
Is it true that the "question_theme_name" property is not present in the tsv export?
Does someone have any tips for what I'm trying to achieve?
Let me know if I should upload some export
Thank you very much

Why not edit the .lsq (or a .lsg) and import that?

As far as I have seen, I would then need to generate and manually import each .lsg separately. Or is there a way to import let's say a .zip containing multiple .lsg ?

Yes, but that should only take a minute or so each.

with around 100 question groups that would be ~2h of clicking around in a web GUI, not something I am too keen on...
coming back to my question, is it true that the tsv export does not contain all relevant question data?

Hi,
as you see here in the manual
manual.limesurvey.org/ExpressionScript_-...code_variable_naming
there is no specific type for "bootstrap buttons".
And in your export you also see that these questions (with bootstrap buttons) all are of type "L"
And the specific settings of bootstrap buttons are not exported at all.
So if the default settings are sufficient you have some options:
a. replace in the lss
b. replace in the database table "lime_questions"
This is done within minutes.

It's clearly an issue here :
bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=19200
And i clearly think the new TSV file is awfull ! Made to be edited easily … but last update broke the objective.
