They asked for the LSS file so thats what I exported. I can send the results but they don't display any output for the answers.

A zip file doesn't help, the LSS was the right format to provide. I could download it and upload it to my installation, but when importing my LS was giving me an error message, that it couldn't import the survey. Very generic and not very helpful to understand where the problem could be.

My question regarding the "export" was about how you export the results.

Let's get this clear and straight to understand where your problem is:
- you have a list of people that can be chosen, split up into various questions
- when you export the results of the survey, they are empty?
- but you can see the answers in the response table only, just not in the exported CSV file, correct?
- You use Version 4.0.1+200120, which is basically the second update after the release of a very fresh Limesurvey.

There is a good chance that your version has a bug when exporting results and this is fixed in a newer version. The most current version is 4.1.5, so it looks like there has been a lot of updates in the last month.

But first let us clarify that you are not doing something wrong when exporting. In any way, an update is recommended. LS is know for some hickups after the release, because not enough people test the release candidates, so the stable releases often still have some bugs that need to be ironed out.

Whenever I try to import your survey, I am getting this error message from LS:

So either there is a problem with the LSS file or, which is my suspicion, the amount of answer options is too much for importing into my installation (probably some PHP limit, the size is fine, that is not the problem).

Thanks for the info. I'm going to do a fresh install on a VM and see what I get using the new version.

As for importing it I see now what was causing that. I had to change an option in my php.ini file to import so many answers. max_input_vars = 15000

I imported into 4.1.4.
And here are my six sophomores.

So it really seems to be a release problem.
Update and try again.

Oh, OK, I thought my max_input_vars was reasonably high. But I am sure it is not at 15000. ;-)

I saw that there is "max_input_vars=40000" in my php installation.

On the other side, I am not sure if this design is the best.
Now I have to scroll through 600 names to find one though they are in alphabetic order..

In my opinion a text question with autocomplete option would be better. (reduces the size of answer options)

Or drop-downs with select2package. (easier finding)

Just to consider.

A couple of custom question themes:
