@southcot excuse me for having digressed from your topic...
As far as I know, there is no "comfort downgrade" facility. Hopefully you can restore your previous installation easily with your db+files backup

Then copy the 2.06 files back to your system and replace the config.php file at /limesurvey/application/config.
The 2.06 files should then make use of the existing DB.
I am not absolutely sure if the DB gets updated from 2.06 to 2.5. If not, that mentioned approach should work fine.

Now after 'downgrade' we running stable 2.06 with 2.5 DB; up to now without problems.
