Hi everyone,

I need some help from people using the Central Participant Database: The Limesurvey manual lists this information:

It is a field that will be updated if a participant hits a particular URL mentioned
in the email sent to him. There will be two URL mentioned in the mail. One will
allow the participant to blacklist himself globally from any survey from that
server; the other, from a particular survey.

But in mail template there is only one url: {OPTOUTURL} and it allows only to
blacklist from that survey.

Is there any URL which allows a user to blacklist himself form the Central Participant Database?

Best regards/Beste Grüße,
Dr. Marcel Minke

Hi,

A link like that:
/index.php/optout/participants?surveyid=391637&langcode=fr&token=TEST

replace tokens by participants, and add surveyid before the surveyid.

The link is used :
- Remove from actaul survey
- If have a participant_id : "blacklist" the participant.

But clearly : there are a lack of dev here.

Denis

Thanks for the hint , Denis.

So when adjusting the link as shown above, this should also mark them as blacklisted at the CPDB level?

Do we have a placeholder for this? The documentation mentions one, maybe it got lost at Github nirvana?

There are no placeholder for this : best is to make a "feature request/bug report". Can be done for 2.06.
Maybe {GLOBALOUTURL} ?

But actualy, withgout a plugin : participant blacklisted is not tested too ..... Maybe just when adding to a survey ?

Hi,
I'm new to LimeSurvey and am not particularly savvy when it comes to computers, so please bear with me

I'm using Version 1.91 to create a survey for my thesis. I read the manual and had a question about the following:

''When you use the {OPTOUTURL} tag in your invitation/reminder email, your participants have the possibility to opt out of this particular survey by just clicking on the related URL in the email - so you don't harrass them with reminder emails. A participant that opted out of your survey will have the email status 'OptOut' set in the token.''

Should this be the same as the End URL which is on the main page where the administrator sees the title of the survey, # of questions, etc? Could I, for example, just type in www.limesurvey.org as my End URL and use this? If not, do I have to create my own Opt-out URL? Or will it be generated when I send out the invitations to the participants?
I'm sorry if this post already answered this questions; as I said, I'm not that great around computers and the terms in the previous posts (placeholders, cpdb, etc.) are unfamiliar to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated (in computer dummy language :) )

My assumption is that at your stone-old version this placeholder for opting out doesn't work at all.
Better update your system first and test again.

Dear Mazi,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I'm using this version because it's the version that's available on my university's server. I don't think it'll be possible to update it. I suppose I could just get around it by writing: ''If you are not interested in participating in the survey, please send an email with the subject ''Not interested'' to {ADMINEMAIL} and I will remove your name from the list.'' Do you think that would work?

Best regards,
koraki

Sure, if you need to have this feature, that should work this way.
