I have to reboot my web server for an issue unrelated to lime survey but have a very important survey running until April 26. My question is this - What happens to an active survey if the server is rebooted? Does it automatically restart? Can it get corrupt if many people are actively using it? What about tokens? Will they be saved/
Will someone please share any best practices? Pause survey and then reboot?
Depending on your hardware and server setup, the survey will be reaccessible after 1-5 minutes.
Depending on where the session files are saved (sometimes /tmp is a ram drive), surveys can be resumed. The impact will be on people just trying to fill out the survey. No impact on tokens or the survey status. It will be the same as before. So no need to reactive a survey after a reboot.
