Send SMS invitations via LimeSurvey was created by mark01
In Africa SMS/WhatsApp/etc is fast becoming more popular than email.
I have done SMS invitations using the modified for smartphone Template Janus and it worked well.
These SMS invitations were sent independently - i.e. not via LimeSurvey - and had a link to the survey.
Now I want to send SMS invitations via LimeSurvey and include tokens and replace the usual email with SMS.
Is this possible? Anyone doing it?
Regards
Mark

This is not possible, because you would need an API to some specific provider that is sending the SMS. And I don't think this is something that is coming anytime soon, especially as in the rest of the world sms is basically dead (thanks to WhatsApp and Co).
The other problem is that you usually can't just set up an "SMS server" yourself, like an email server. And I would think that the APIs of each provider who is sending those SMS is different. So I don't think this is something that Limesurvey can support.
But what holds you back to create token links in bulk (there is a description in the manual for that) and then send them via the external application? Of course this SMS application would need to support to tailor the send link (different link for each respondent).
