Does LS have the capacity to organize my list of surveys into folders?

Hello,
We use LS to conduct program evaluation for 5 different research grants. Currently, all the surveys for all projects are shown in a single list on the Administration page, under the list surveys function. We would love to be able to organize each set of surveys for each project in its own folder. Is it possible to do this in LS? There are only three of us who manage/access the Admin. site.
Any assistance or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Kelly

No, this is currently not possible.

The features to organize surveys is very currently very limited in Limesurvey.

Hello,
there is a 'feature request' about this here .

A workaround to improve the home page presentation and implement such classification consist in editing the surveylist.psptl file of the template used as default theme for the plateform.

a) Remove the placeholder {SURVEYLIST} (= list not displayed)

b) Set your own presentation using your prefered (jquery plugin based) solution;
Some valid methods:
- expand/collapsed 'accordeon', etc.
- tabs panel ...

Could look pretty smart with a homepage quiet similar to a 'common' website.
The problem is that the surveys list should be updated manually and the admin dropdown menu remains general
(alphab. sorted)

About tabs panel...

I attach a modified surveylist.pstpl file - for a platform using "citronnade" theme for default template - with a (very light) tab presentation... (based on this )

It's not 100% ready for production use (for the less, CSS may be placed in a better place), but can give some ideas if somebody wants to go further...
Obviously nothing changes for the admin surveys list :( ...

Did this ever move forward or is there any other way to group my surveys into different "folders"?

Thank you for your responses. These all seem like work-arounds for someone who has a decent working knowledge for writing code etc. A little beyond my understanding- I just make and distribute surveys using existing functionality in LS. I was hoping there was an option to create a folder and move surveys in it like I can on my PC.

Hi, klauri,
I do not know if you updated since your post 4 years ago. I hope so.

Well, in the actual version 3.x you have the option to create "survey groups".

When creating a new survey you can select (in "General settings") the survey group.

But it does not appear you can move an existing survey into a group. I want to put some testing surveys in to a "test" group and not have them appear in the main list. I would also like to put some (still active, but older) unused surveys into a "past work" group.

You can just attribute it to the group you want. And you can change it later. E.g. First group "test" then group "live".

Here a screenshot of the survey list:

And then go into the survey, go to "settings" --> "general settings" and you'll see a dropdown with all available survey groups. You can change the survey group (default is "default survey group) to all available survey groups:

Thank you - very helpful for the new surveys I create. But I am unable to put the existing surveys into groups so I can "unclutter" my list of current work.

Hmm, do you have a screenshot who the survey list looks for existing surveys? and how the settings for this look like?

Because I think older surveys should also be possible to attribute a group to.

Maybe its a bug, but it would be great if you could show some screenshots from your installation:
- The survey list screen showing some older surveys
- The screen where you should be able to modify the survey group for a specific survey. Would like to see how it looks like for your existing surveys. They should be all "Default survey group" by default, I think. Then you should be able to modify.
