How to view statistics percentage? was created by ubound
Hello,

I am using LimeSurvey 3.16.1

I am having a problem with viewing statistics' percentages. My statistics page generates a pie chart. I can hover over pie sections but the bubble that appears near each section isn't big enough to see statistics properly.

I am attaching two images to show what I mean.

The left side of the pie seems to be showing the first part of the option (so percentage doesn't even fit) while the right side of the pie shows the second part of the option so (you can see like half sentence and percentage in the end).

I tried expert mode with no luck. Once it generated just a picture of the pie with no writing or percentages and another times my computer said that the zip file was empty.

Is there any other place where I can view these percentages properly?

Thanks

You could switch from pie charts to bar charts. Seems to work in the demo (3.17.3), on the left there is the text and on the right of the box there is the % or absolute. So either this is a problem with pie charts or it is a problem with your version.

Just played around a little bit (never use the statistics feature for more than a short glimples, because I find it too limited) and there seem to be some problems displaying the charts. I couldn't reproduce your error, but there are other errors not displaying columns correctly.

The admin area seems to have only pie chart options that functions only as described above. But in my public statistics I have a bar graph and it does show statistics percentages. However, I need to fill the survey myself every time to be able to see that page and then to delete my own answers.

Also, once you click SUBMIT, you kind of see blank space and need to scroll up to see VIEW STATISTICS link. This isn't very good for my visitors because I don't think they will know what to do. And I can't redirect them somewhere once the survey is published :(

Hi,
just to mention: there are browser specific issues.
Firefox seems to display correctly, but IE does not.

And now I do not understand your last post. What are you talking about? The admin statistics? The public statistics?
I do not see an issue here: (Firefox, LS 3.16.0)

Also, once you click SUBMIT, you kind of see blank space and need to scroll up to see VIEW STATISTICS link

After I click submit I see this at the top of the page (without any need to scroll)

Maybe the best is, you attach your survey, or part of it, that shows your problem.

Best regards
Joffm

In expert mode you can decide which type of graph you want, in the normal mode the graph type chosen when creating the question is taken.

Firefox seems to display correctly, but IE does not.

IE is not supported for the backend of Limesurvey. So if this is the problem, the only solution is switching browsers, because this will most probably not be fixed.

Just as Joffm says, you do not have to fill in the form every time to see the public statistics. Once would be enough. Just save the link. But this is not the solution. Use statistics in expert mode with the right browser and you should see what yo need.

Thanks everyone. I am using Chrome for everything.

What are you talking about? The admin statistics? The public statistics?

By admin statistics I mean statistics available in my LimeSurvey backend. By public statistics I mean the statistics that everyone can see after finishing the survey by clicking "View statistics" link.

After I click submit I see this at the top of the page (without any need to scroll)

Maybe this depends on how the survey is presented. Mine is 20 lines in one page, not question by question, maybe that's why it needs scrolling after submit.

I don't want to share the link because I don't want to mess up stats that I collected so far. I guess I will just deal with it until this survey ends, and then maybe update to a newer version to see if it works better for me.

Thanks again!

Joffm did not want you to post a link to your survey, but rather a .LSS file attached to this thread.
