Thank you for your help! I was able to hide the subquestions for a list question type but the radio buttons are still showing up, just without the text. How can I make it all hidden unless the respondent selects those subquestions in the previous question?

Thank you,
Tatyana

Tatyana, can you please explain exactly what you are trying to do, including LimeSurvey version and question types, and the steps taken so far?

Cheers,

The LimeSurvey version is 2.05
I have a multiple response question which lists colleges and asks the respondent to check those to which s/he applied . Then we want them to rank the colleges to which they applied in order of preference. Currently, there are three questions, one asking which was their first choice, the second asking about second choice, and third about third choice. We want the instrument to show only the colleges to which they applied, and hide the colleges they did not check in that question.

I used this {q1_SQ001.shown} in order to hide all other college options if they weren't selected so that participants can indicate their first choice among the colleges they applied to but the radio buttons still appear even if the text is hidden.

Dear Tony, I also encounter the same problem. I'm trying to ask a multiple choice question, then from the answers generating list of possible responses for the following single choice question but the radio buttons are still showing up, just without the text. Is the array filter applicable to 2 multiple choice questions instead of 1 multiple and 1 single?

Attached is my question group for reference. Thank you so much for your kind help.

Sorry, I'm a little confused. First you ask about a multiple-choice followed by a list-radio and then you ask about two multiple-choices.

What LimeSurvey version are you using?

Can you attach a small sample survey (.lss file) instead of a group.

Cheers,
Tony Partner

Hello

I've spent hours now to try to solve my problem.
{Q1.shown} show the answer to the question if checked but i'd like to display the text (=label) of the right answer Q1_A1....

Question n°1 Your answer is the following : {Q1.shown}.

Its assement value is : + {Q1.value}.

The right answer is : xxxxxxxxxxx

At the moment I wonder if it is possible. Thank you very much for your help

What question type?

Why not simply hard-code the correct label value?

Thank you very much for your quick answer
The question is a radio button question. I try something like Q1_A1.xxxx

Hard core is a possibility but the last.

There is no Expression Manager variable for the answer labels of list-radio questions.

Hi,

if you say you are using a radio button question, your approach "Q1_A1.xxxx" is not correct.
The Q1_A1 syntax means "A1" is the code of a subquestion of Q1.

How do you imagine LimeSurvey can know the "right" answer?
A simple "if-statement" will do it.

Let's say, "A4" is the correct answer:
{if(Q1!="A4","The correct answer is: 'Option 4'","Your answer is correct")}

Hi!

I need help on a related topic.

I have one multiple choice question (SSP) with many many subquestions (the number is variable but can be up to 100). I am using array filtering to display only the checked options in a subsequent array filter question (nivSSP, see sample survey attached).

The second question should only be displayed if any of the options except "non" has been checked in the first question.

Using relevance I have managed to hide the question if the option "non" is chosen. But if no option is chosen I can still see the question without any subquestions (see screen shot).

I was wondering if there is any way of saying that question two has to be displayed if any option was checked without having to list all subquestions. Using only the question code for relevance has not worked, and I don't want to have to list all subquestions in the relevance field. Am I missing something?

I hope you understand what I mean.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best,
Ana
