Import from Google Forms was created by maxxer
Hi.
Is it possible to import surveys from Google Forms?
I'd like to import the forms themselves and the results, if possible.

Thanks

I have the same problem. I have started my survey with google forms, then I moved to LimeSurvey. I have about 900 responses in google forms and I don't want to lose them. The questions are the same. Is there a way to import the excel file (maybe changing some variables etc) to limesurvey? Please help.

tpartner's answer didn't change in the meantime.
No built-in way.

But:
What is the reason to do that?

After completion of your survey you export the data anyway to analyze them.
And you analyze in a statistics tool like SPSS, PSPP, R, or even EXCEL,OpenOffice, or... , NOT in LimeSurvey.
Merge your Google form EXCEL file and the to EXCEL exported data of LimeSurvey and import into your statistic tool.
First you have to adapt the structure. That shouldn't be to difficult, as you didn't change questions and answer options.

But here two options, if you really want to do it:
1. If it is an open survey you can try to import the data directly to the LimeSurvey answer table.
Examine the table structure of the LS answer table "lime_survey_[surveyID]" with phpMyAdmin or TOAD or another tool.
As the columns are named according to SGQA syntax this will be a bit time consuming
Create the INSERT-statements. This is rather easy in your EXCEL sheet with some formulas like "Concat".
Now again in phpMyAdmin you run these statements.
Requirements: You have access to the LS database and some knowledge of MySQL.

2. You could try to do an vv export of the LimeSurvey data.
This is a TAB-separated *.csv file.
Here the codes of the columns are shown.
In EXCEL add your Google data (after adapting the structure).
Import the vv file again.
This second option I did not test.

It is really up to you and it is your responsibility.

I do not recommend it because you may destroy your data table.
So anything should only be done in a copy of your survey.
And as I said before: No real reason to do it.

The VV solution are really the option to choose.

Just test on a copy of your survey before, or just with on answers.
