=General=

LimeSurvey contains a built-in facility that enables quick and easy translation of surveys. This facility is designed to make it easy for a human translator to translate a survey from the base language into any specified target language.

=Requirements=

To access the quick translation facility you have to have a survey with at least one additional language. So in the [[General settings|general settings]] of your survey, add the desired additional language(s).

By default, the quick-translation facility can be accessed from the tool menu in the survey toolbar. To enable this for a specific user (without providing him global permissions), go through the following steps:
#In [[Manage users|create/edit users]] add each translator as a new user.
#Go to the "local" [[Survey permissions|survey permissions]], select each desired user, and provide him/her the necessary user rights for "quick translation".

Once these steps are complete, you and your translators are ready to translate the survey:
