User data input (email) used to link to other survey

Hi!

Just wondering if this is possible in LimeSurvey. The goal is to send one small survey to who can enter email addresses of the people he/she needs to contact and another or part 2 of the first survey is then sent to those people.

Survey 1: We send out a small survey to one person, asking to input email addresses in the survey. He/she can add (multiple) rows accordingly. These email addresses (contacts) will then be used to send an invite to Survey 2 or part 2.

Survey 2: Full survey/2nd part which will then be filled out by these individuals.

Any help/tips/solutions are appreciated. Thanks :)

The answer to your question is "yes". You can create two surveys and take the emailaddresses from the first survey for sending invitations for the second survey. I wonder what tips you're asking for? I recommend to test LimeSurvey over a few weeks for a few hours. If you already have used other survey tools, you might have expectations LimeSurvey cannot fullfill.

Your description might not contain the amount of automatization you expect.
That is often the gap, which sometimes get filled via plugins or workarounds.

The 360 solution is a paid package. Still, you could use this plugin from Sondages gitlab.com/SondagesPro/surveyRegister

Your threadstarting post isn't explicit stating that you want to automate the whole process.

Your developers would ask for an exacter description of what the workflow should be.
After the workflow is well defined, your developer will find more infos here.

From a developer point of view you would then look for plugins (commercial and free ones) first.
E.g. when you want to automatically send emails, you will need an external tool for just that.

Included solution

Update basic admin notifications email with something like this

Something invited you to do this survey
example.org/1234

Please do it


Put the email in a multiple short text question type with title "EMAILINVITE"

Put {list(EMAILINVITE)} in the admin notification email …

It's done

For a better system : use manual.limesurvey.org/AfterSurveyComplete event to create tokens and send email from another survey.

Denis' solution sounds good. Didn't know about {list()}.

However, all automatic solutions can be risky if you are in countries that take spam and privacy very serious. Of course this depends a little bit on your audience, but if this is available to the public, your approach might be stopped quite quickly by people who do not want to receive unsolicited emails from you.

You could always go a manual approach: Get all emails from the first survey every X days, check them and then invite people to the second survey via a token based survey, uploading the email addresses via CSV as a token table.

More manual work? Yes. Depending on the volume and approach of your survey, it might be worth the extra work (or not).
