Question and Answer at the same line was created by bferrie
Hi everybody,

On a survey, i would like to put short text answer or short radio list at the same line as the question.

I tried to follow those previous topics :

www.limesurvey.org/forum/can-i-do-this-w...me-line?limitstart=0

www.limesurvey.org/forum/can-i-do-this-w...or-list-radio-q-type

The first doesn't work for me.
The second works in part with tpartner' solution. For a radio list, all the anwsers are at the same line, but not with the question.

I use limesurvey Version 3.17.1+190408 and the vanilla theme.

Thank you for your help.

Why would you want it all on one line? It will never work on small devices (phones).

Thank you for your reply.

I would like to do this especially for computers. I know that it will be complicated on small devices.
The purpose is to reduce the length of the survey with the short question as "gender : Man / Women" or "Age : ?"

But if it is not possible, i would do without.

I have another question, for the text answers, short or long, there is the possibility to stretch the text field manually when you reply to the survey. I would like to block it but i didn't find how.

Thanks.

Hi,
just one remark.

I have another question,

If it is another question please open a new topic for this.

How many times do we read "I searched the forum but didn't find anything"
If somebody will look through the topics, he will see "Question and Answer..." and never expect there is something about stretching or not stretching of text fields.

I wait for the answer for the first question and i open an other topic for the second question.

Thanks

You can force the answers inline by assigning a question CSS class "inline-answers-question" and adding something like this to custom.css. (these CSS rules are for a list-radio type question using the Vanilla theme)

Code:
@media only screen and (min-width: 768px) {

  .inline-answers-question .question-title-container.col-xs-12,
  .inline-answers-question .question-valid-container.col-xs-12,
  .inline-answers-question .answer-container.col-xs-12 {
    width: auto;
  }

  .inline-answers-question .question-valid-container,
  .inline-answers-question .answer-container {
    padding-top: 1em;
  }

  .inline-answers-question .answer-container > div {
    padding-top: 0;
  }

  .inline-answers-question .answer-container .ls-answers {
    padding-top: 0;
  }

  .inline-answers-question .answer-container .answer-item {
    display: block;
    float: left;
    clear: none;
    margin-bottom: 0;
  }
}

Thank you for your great answer.
I will try this.

Is there a risk to do that ? To creat any compatibility problems ?

But really, thank you

No, except it may not fit on smaller screens which is why I added a media query so the rules only apply to screens more than 768 px wide.
