Type of question was created by flapauw
Hello, I allow myself to ask this question here, if someone has the answer :).
Is it possible to ask this type of question:

example: "According to you, which countries are involved" -> World map on which we could click on countries.

Thanks a lot for your help !

:D

Flore.

This type of question does not exist in Limesurvey. But you can probably create something like this with an image and Javascript, but this would be custom coding.

But you can probably create something like this with an image and Javascript

The "probably" should already indicate that I don't know if and how this can be done via Javascript.

But I guess it will be quite a bit of work. Because you will have to have the image, then mark every country with an area (which is extremely tricky, because countries are not just squares, but have very complicated shapes). Alone marking those countries for Javascript to identify where you did click will be a monstrous load of work, I think. This is nothing that you would do quickly, even if you are an expert in Javascript. In addition to that, you probably want the possibility that more than 1 country can be marked. That will add probably another level of work. I think it can be done, but I don't think that someone with little to no coding experience can do it, and experts will need quite a bit of time. Maybe there is already some kind of Javascript library with a world map where you can mark the countries. You could then write the result into a hidden question in Limesurvey to register the picked countries in the database. A lot of custom coding though.

But a quick google search spit out a few links that have the map and the javascript ready, now you need to see how you can write the results collected with this Javascript into a LS question to save it in the database:
www.amcharts.com/docs/v3/tutorials/selecting-countries-map/

stackoverflow.com/questions/2717008/inte...untries-on-mouseover
This seems to be able to do it with SVG vectors from Inkscape: dmitrybaranovskiy.github.io/raphael/

Maybe here:
jsmaps.io/?s=world
datamaps.github.io/
colorlib.com/wp/jquery-map-plugins/
