Hello,

I am wondering if there is a way to for participants to be able to skip certain questions/questionnaires automatically within a survey if a certain group of questions are not applicable to them. For example, is it possible to create a question where if a participant responds « no », certain following questions will not appear to the participant, whereas if a participant responds « yes » to said question, they will have access to the following questions? We are trying to minimize the amount questions that survey-takers must respond to in cases where the questions do not pertain to them.

Please let me know if my question needs further explanation.

Thank you.

Hi, depending on the LimeSurvey version you are using (at least 2.0.x), Expression Manager will do the trick. See manual.limesurvey.org/Expression_Manager .

Hi,
the buzzword is "relevance".
Please read here: manual.limesurvey.org/Expression_Manager...ation.2FBranching.29
or read about the "question types". In each type you will find a topic Relevance
manual.limesurvey.org/Question_types

You also can use "conditions",
manual.limesurvey.org/Setting_conditions
but as the manual says about Expression Manager:

Note: This is similar to what can be done via the Conditions editor, but EM lets you easily specify much more complex and powerful criteria (and lets you use the variable name rather than SGQA identifiers).

And last but not least: Study the sample surveys
