We are moving from VPS to VPS in search of un-interrupted service for our Limesurvey instances. To that end, we are considering a cloud install to benefit from the (assumed) redundancy. My review of some of the AWS third-party Limesurvey providers suggests that it is perhaps not possible/not simple to maintain an instance of Limesurvey on AWS in a way where it would not be modified by auto-updates. Is this correct? What we basically need is the cloud but not the automatic source code updates which appear to be part of such services (e.g. Bitnami). I'd appreciate your feedback.
Did anyone use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for huge Limesurvey project which required lots of resources?
Which cloud provider offers running a duplicate instance of server X so in case of problems you can easily switch to such a copy/backup system?
