Keep SID the same when importing from development server was created by andogro
Hello
I am working on surveys in a development environment then uploading the .lss to the production server the SID is automatically changed. This is an issue because we have some logic that depends on the SID throughout the file. Is there a way to set the SID to be the same when uploaded?
Thanks

Instead of being fixed, you can get the SID from the EM .
I am not sure if you can use {SID}.
If not. you can get if from the SGQA variable:
manual.limesurvey.org/Expression_Manager...efits_of_using_EM.3F

Which version of Limesurvey is used? On newer versions you can change the Survey ID when using the copy function. So you first import the .lss file and than you can create a copy with the old surveyid.

As far as I know, the ID should only be automatically changed if a survey with that ID already exists on the production server.

Hey, that seems to be new! Didn't know that this existed. Thank you Jelo for highlighting this.

Not sure if it was already there, when the COPY feature was introduced.

That is quite old. I don't know the buildnumber, but it was already on 2.05+.holch wrote: Hey, that seems to be new!

Thanks, copy functionality seems like a useful solution as we have an external xml doc that is running some commands. It is renaming the SID when we import regardless of whether the number existed in the past.
