Hi.

I want to ask if someone can help me with an issue that I am having in some questionaries that I am applying.

Something is happening at the end of the questionarie when respondents are finishing. Limesurvey sometimes asks for a password for some respondents when they click to send the survey (not for all and randomly, around 20%). The problem is that the respondents do not have that password because they are invited by email. In consecuence the answer is lost (also if the person introduce the password).

Just to clarify, respondents that have had the problem did not asked for a password to save the survey and continue later.

If someone can help me, and tell me what should I check or if it is something about the internal programming of limesurvey, I would be very grateful.

Cheers.

With password I assume you are talking about tokens?

The token should be entered at the beginning of the survey and not at the end. If it is included in the link, then respondents should be able to proceed directly to the survey, without having to include anything.

EVERY response is saved in the database. So even if they do not finish the survey, there should at least be some data stored in the database (except if all is on one page of course).

So all this sounds pretty weird. Do you have a screenshot of this request for email?

What version of LS is used? How is it hosted?

Is there an end url used?

Thank you for your quick response.

Yes I am talking about tokens. Not always the platform ask for tokens, also sometimes it shows a mistake when respondents click on send responses.

I was not very specific. All the response, when the problem happens, is not lost. It saves around the 30% of the response (2 pages of 5, almost all!)

I do not have an screenshot of the problem, because it have not happened in my tests (in spite of I have made a lot to see if it happens). The problems happens randomly, the respondents have told me several times.

I am using 3.17.1+190408 version and a virtual server with Linux.

I do not have an end url.

I have no idea how that could happen but, try disabling AJAX in the survey theme options.

Hahaha.

There is a problem with the software.
  • Windows: restart and see what happens.
  • Limesurvey: switch off Ajax mode and see what happens.

In both cases, there is a good chance the problem is solved. ;-)

My thinking is that if you can successfully submit the first page without AJAX, you should be assured that the session is working.

This behaviour would occur, if some sessions get lost serverside.

Tpartner: You should create a LimeStore item, which just reminds the user to "disable" AJAX-Mode. ;-) bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=14616
