Validation as survey password was created by GBMIMM
Hi all,
I am looking to use a simple text validation to act as a survey password, but I am having trouble setting this up.
I will send the validation to participants in advance, and then access to the survey is granted by a general link.
Can someone advise if this following steps are correct to do this?
Q1. 'General options' - 'Validation' - insert desired text
Q2. 'Set condition' - Only show Q1 if the default scenario 'equals' whatever the text password is.
Are there additional steps I am missing? At the moment this does not work for me. When I enter the exact text at Q1. I receive this error message:
"One or more questions have not been answered in a valid manner. You cannot proceed until these answers are valid."
All advice greatly appreciated!

Volunteers are not paid.
Not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless

So, you want all your participants to be able to enter the survey with one password?
Though there are better ways to achieve that, your approach should be
short text question (Q1) with question validation: Q1=="yourPassword"
This is found in "Logic", do not use the "validation" in "general options"
This way people cannot proceed without entering the correct password.
If you want them to be screened out, do it without validation, but create a quota with limit "0".
This way you have to create an equation (eq1) like "{if(Q1=="myPassword",1,0)}
And the quota is "eq1==0 --> screen out.

Thanks very much for your help, I will give the logic option a try now.
Out of interest, what is your recommended alternative to achieve this?

We've been using tokens so far in a trial with three organisations and c100 users and they work a charm - easy to distribute, revoke etc.
