Not using Wysiwyg html editor was created by Witz
If you go into 'Edit' for editing the question, a html editor is being used for editing the question text.

I wonder if I cannot use the html editor.

I am adding an odd div tag at the html editor source interface.

If a user type in any text in it, it goes into <div id='ls-question-text-{qid}"> tag of the question page. However, I want to input the special item next to the question text so I want to escape this div tag and put another div tag parallelly under <div id="ctn=question-test-{qid}"> tag.

What I put in it is like the blow.

<div> something </div>
</div>
<div><div> something 2</div></div>
<div>

It's working fine just after saving.

But, Wysiwyg html editor is too smart. Next time, another user to revisit this quesiton and try to edit other things.

The html editor is auto-correct the html tags I added like the below.

<div> something </div>
<div>
</div>
<div><div> something 2</div></div>

Finally, the layout is broken after editing this question by another user.

So, the best way I was thinking was not to use the html editor and remove this html editor from question text input. Just textbox would be enough for me.

Or, it would be woudnerful if there is a way to stop the auto tag correction by html editor.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, just switch it off in the admin settings of your installation:

Go to "Configuration" > "Global Settings" > "Default HTML editor mode:" set to "Html Source".

I guess the users can still change this in their settings though. Not sure. I think before it was possible to force the Editor to off. Now I am not sure if it is just the default and everyone can change it in their preferences.

Just tested: Users can overwrite this in their personal settings...

Thank you so much. I was just looking it at the source code level and didn't imagine it's available on the configuration setting.
