I have an active survey where I had to deactivate it in order to add a new question. These are the steps I took:
1. Set an expiry date for a time just prior to the current time -- so that no one can access the survey
2. Backed up my survey by exporting via the Survey Summary page (Display / Export -> Survey archive (.lsa) -- just in case something bad happened
3. Went to Responses, and select Export->VV-Export -- so I can reimport responses after I make my change
4. Deactivated the survey
5. Added new questions
6. Activated the survey again
7. Went to Responses->Import->VV-Import and imported my VV file from step 1
I verified that my responses were all re-imported correctly, and that my survey was working fine.
Next day, I get a few emails from participants who had saved responses without submitting them yet (Save/Return later)...
I go to Responses->Partial (saved) responses and "Oh no!" There aren't any records there -- and I know that previously there had been some...
1) What happened?
2) Can I recover these somehow, or are they permanently lost?
3) Shouldn't these records be stored in the VV file, or in the LSA file I exported -- I have site backups -- is there a way to retrieve these?
