Can I track the ID from a URL? was created by tvrooijen
Hi,
I am working with an online panel and for tracking purposes I would like to record part (or the entire) url. Every participant will be refered to the survey via an unique ID number. Here is an example:
www.mysurveyexample/surveyname ?pid=0001
I want to track the pid code with every entry on my survey, does anyone have any tips?
Thanks in advance!
Tim

You usually use certain ids, which you have to route back to the panel.

Thank you, I am having some issues with the panel integrations feature though. When I try to link my parameter to my target question, I can't select any questions. I have added a short text question placed it on the first question group, and hide it. I also disabled the welcome screen, but sadly it didn't work. Does anyone know what might be the problem?

Hi, tvrooijen,
now there is the time to send a sample survey *.lss, that we may see your problem.

Try removing the "Always hide this question" setting and hide the question with a CSS class "hidden" instead.

The amount of questions and post around how to hide a question is really a never-ending story.
I have never seen that in other survey packages. The hiding of a question was always "visual" only.

Back to the issue:
I tried to reproduce the behavior in LS 3.5.
The hidden (via GUI) question was accessible in the panel integration dialog.
Looks fine to me.
A LSS export will help.

That would be a new development in LS 3. If hidden (traditional gui switch) questions are no longer accessible via panel integration I would call that a bug.tpartner wrote: Try removing the "Always hide this question" setting and hide the question with a CSS class "hidden" instead.

Hello - I have the same issue, in version 3.6.4. There's no target question to select. Is this a common bug? Was it just updating for you - but in that case, if I look at your post date, I should have the same version that worked for you?
Any help appreciated.

Hi helveticar,
I am using Version 3.4.4+180305. With my first survey I used confort update to update my software, then this feature broke for me. When I reinstalled this version, it worked again. I would suggest trying older versions or try a new instal.
I am not an expert though, so maybe someone else has any suggestions.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. I also asked on the IRC support channel and apparently this was a bug that was fixed in 3.7.0 - I've updated and now it works. So it's solved - thanks!
