I doubt that the demo got really hacked. There are always some jokers writing something like "you have been hacked" in spaces that can actually be changed in the backend easily.
However, the demo of limesurvey is reset every X hours, so soon it will be back to clean install.

The interesting thing is that I cannot change or delete the homepage button with the malicious JavaScript. I tried that on Wednesday and the demo mode restriction didn't let me change or delete the additional buttons. Seems there are be a bug in LS demo mode :
1. You can add any button on admin part
2. But you can not update or remove any buttons
