Problems with charts - most likely not the usual permission-problem

Hi everyone,

after a couple of days I still don't get charts going on our installation - neither html or pdf. I don`t even know if it is a limesurvey topic, but rather caused by the installation:

The system does generate PNG-files, but all with size 0. Consequently, no charts show up, except for small blue boxes.
After switching on LS-debugging, it shows
"imagepng(): gd-png error: cannot allocate libpng main struct" in application/third_party/tcpdf/tcpdf.php

For the life of it, I don't get it fixed - this is my fourth day on it.

Does anybody have an idea how to get it to work?

Thanks,
Rainer

It is for sure not a LimeSurvey problem, but one of the server.

Check out www.litespeedtech.com/support/forum/arch...ndex.php/t-4987.html for a similar case. Maybe your libPNG version number does not fit to your GD/PHP version. But I don't have a Mac so it's hard to tell how to fix it.

Hi,

thanks for the link and the clarification regarding the server being the problem. It really was a server problem:

I doublechecked the installed PHP/GD versions and installed an older version of libjpeg (6b vs. the installed version 9). Fitting the right versions of PHP and its modules seems to be quite tricky - at least on the Mac.

Installed versions for Snow Leopard on the working system:
PHP 5.3.27
libpng 1.2.41
libjpeg 6b

Thanks again,
Rainer
